"Before attending UAC Tabitha was headed straight for self-destruction. She thought that dealing, hanging out on the street all day and night, dropping out of school was the way to go. By attending UAC, it has taught her responsibility respect and pride. She wants to finish school and go in to college."    Tabitha's mother

At that time Tabitha was 15 years old. Today Tabitha is 19 working at a small business and training to be a Merchant Seaman.

"I wish I could make a tape and show them at school. If they could see Brandon teaching this class they would not believe it. They only knew him to be a trouble maker."

Brandon has been in UAC programs since he was nine. He is now 15 with his sights on going to college as a music major. He use to spend his free time running the streets. Now he belongs to his high school band, he is the drummer for his church choir, and works as a teaching assistant for the UAC.

UAC programs and performances develop citizens that contribute to their specific communities, cities and Hampton Roads; when traveling outside of this area the Urban Arts Ensemble is working as goodwill ambassadors. City Official
